I Heart Faces - Smiles

This week's theme at I Heart Faces is Smiles. This picture immediately came to my mind when I thought of smiles. This was taken on Christmas morning. Jaren (my cousin) was giving me a giant hug (and smile). I quickly snapped a photo. At the last moment his older sister, Sierra,  jumped into the background. As you can see they were both full of smiles. I hope you like it!

Strawberries.

Firstly I want to say that I am so glad it is finally friday. This week seemed to drag on forever. And what makes it better is that I have no school monday! 

So today after school I decided I wanted to take photos. There was no one to take photos of so I was thinking, " Hmmm. What could I possibly take photos of?" Then I remembered seeing a photo of a strawberry slamming into a cup of water. So I decided to give it a try myself. Here are the results!

My photo today is of me. I was outside taking pictures and I had this idea. So this is what it looked like in the end.

I had to put my camera on the ground and then put it on the timer mode. I hope you like it!

I Heart Faces - Desserts

My entry this week for I Heart Faces :

These are butterscotch bars. They have butterscotch chips, peanut butter and marshmallow in them. REALLY easy to make!

My brother LOVES these things. He hyperventilates when I make them!

A few of you asked for the recipe. You can make a variety of different versions of this .To tell you the truth I just make it up as I go. Here is a general recipe for these ones.

• 2 cups of butterscotch chips (you can use 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of butterscotch chips instead if you want to add some chocolatey goodness)
• 3-4 tbsp. of smooth peanut butter
• 3 cups of marshmallows (rough estimate)

1. Melt the first two ingredients in a pot on medium-low heat. (make sure you don't burn it!)
2. Take pot off the burner after the ingredients are melted. Let cool for about 5 minutes.
3. Add marshmallows and coat evenly. Put in a square greased pan.
4. Refrigerate until they are hardened.
5. Cut up and enjoy!

Someone also asked what lens I used. I used the one that my camera came with. It's called an AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G. Basically the cheapest one you can get! I've started to save for a new one. Any suggestions?

Swinging.

My image for today was taken on Sunday while at my cousins' house. I decided I wanted to try to get her to swing and see if I could make her clear but make the background blurred. They have this swing in their basement so we tried it on there. This is how it originally turned out:

Please let my know if you like it. Sometimes to me it looks good but then to others it might not seem so great! I really appreciate the comments. :)
